She May be the face I can't forget The trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay

She May be the song that summer sings May be the chill that autumn brings May be a hundred different things Within the measure of a day

She May be the beauty or the beast May be the famine or the feast May turn each day into a heaven or a hell

She may be the mirror of my dreams The smile reflected in a stream She may not be what she may seem Inside her shell

Thursday night
05.24.07 (10:40 pm)   [edit]

Thursday night, 21:26 hrs find me here at home, blogging with my therapuetical eye (mask) patches beneath my eyes. The lovely tunes of Whitney Houston swoons about good love and somehow, this just feels weird. Perhaps it is because i haven't been home so early for quite some time.

Can i complain here? Of coz i can. It's my blog after all. Well, I had a left ear infection (for more information on ear infections - please relate to the previous entry) and it hurts like hell in the morning. It's the kind of pain that aches even when you smile, or talk. I finally saw the doc after lunch and stopped my whinings after dear Pris helped me to drip the ear drop. Interestingly enough, the doc taught me that ear drops are actually eye drops in disguise or the other way round. I wasnt really paying attention as the doc just did something really painful to my ear then.

Hmm.. the radio seems to be spouting out really lovely tunes tonight: "Angel of mineeeeeee....." Well then, i collected part B of the group assignment for research & analysis and we got a Credit for it. Relief is the word.
...
Thursday night going on Friday night. Sometimes, i wish i have more time. Sometimes, i just wish i could get everything over and done with. Isn't that such a big contradiction?
...
At least i have willy's cake to look forward to. Sigh. Thank you, my dear!

Horrid Ear Infection
05.24.07 (10:25 pm)   [edit]

What is a middle ear infection?

The middle ear is the small part of your ear just inside your eardrum. It gets infected when germs from a cold are trapped there.

What causes it?

A small tube connects your ear to your throat. A cold can cause this tube to swell. When the tube swells enough to become blocked, it can trap the fluid from your cold inside your ear. This makes it a perfect place for germs to grow and cause an infection.

Ear infections happen mostly to young children because their tubes are smaller and get blocked more easily.

What are the symptoms?

The main symptom is an earache. It can be mild, or it can hurt a lot. Babies and young children may be fussy. They may pull at their ears and cry. They may have trouble sleeping or hearing. They may have a fever.

You may see thick, yellow fluid coming from their ears. This happens when the infection has caused the eardrum to burst and the fluid flows out. This is not serious and usually makes the pain go away. The eardrum usually heals on its own.

When fluid builds up but does not get infected, children often say that their ears just feel plugged. They may have trouble hearing, but their hearing usually returns to normal after the fluid is gone. It may take weeks for the fluid to drain away.

A first at Crab-ing
05.06.07 (5:47 pm)   [edit]

I believe that crab-ing is one of the easiest past-time that can be associated with marine life and the best thing? - the poor marine animals will not be harmed (as fishes do TENDS TO GET HURT when fished). Perhaps, though, the only thing that will be affected is the dignity of the crabs.

I had my first attempt at "crab-ing" last night at the Sembawang Park. Amazingly enough, there were many people and i wonder, don't people have better things to do, than to spend a Saturda y night at the park? Keke...  there were people fishing, crab-ing, bbq-ing, picnic-ing (both of the latter is much missed) and camping (WG/Eetat, oei! wanna camp?) among other things.

In the end, 2 crabs (as wished) landed in our trap.

Absolutely amazing.

Crab History

The crab is one of the oldest species on earth. The horseshoe crab dates back over 200 million years and is literally a living fossil. It's easy to tell the difference between a male and female (she-crab) by looking at the underside of the shell (see photos). The female has a broad, triangular-shaped area in the center of the shell, whereas the male has a distinctive, elongated spire in the center.

Many types of crabs live near the shore. Crabs are ocean life related to lobsters and shrimps. However, crabs have evolved so that they can walk or run sideways, as well as burrow and swim. Crabs are 10-legged animals that walk sideways.

Crab Varieties

There are almost 5,000 different types of crabs; about 4,500 are crabs, about 500 are hermit crabs. Most crabs live in the oceans, but many, like the robber crab, live on land. Crab Varieties and Forms: There are over 4,400 varieties of crabs. Crab is available in live, raw, frozen, cooked, and canned forms.

(欢笑后,眼泪却不 不觉得落下...)

The Old Guitarist, 1903

If thou must love me, let it be for nought Except for love's sake only.

Do not say, I love her for her smile, her look, her way of speaking gently, for a trick of thought that falls in well with mine, and, certes, brought a sense of pleasant ease on such a day.

For these things in themselves, Beloved, may be changed, or change for thee- and love so wrought, may be unwrought so.

Browning, Elizabeth Barrett
